OUR MISSION:  The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

The Northwest Illinois Chapter provides services to active members of U.S. Military and their families including: National Guard, Reservists, Recruiters, Reserve Offices Training Corps (ROTC), U.S. Public Health Services, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Retires, and Veterans.

  • Emergency worldwide communication between service members and families
  • Notification of illness, birth, death, and other emergencies
  • Assist military in its decision to grant leave by verifying locally
  • Supportive services and referrals to service persons and their families.
  • Advocacy role for veterans who are appealing discharge status or seeking
  • Compensation awards from DVA
  • Emergency financial assistance for military families and veterans.
